Oil On Ice 

Beginning with an intimate view of the natural history and indigenous cultures of northeastern Alaska, OIL ON ICE looks at the role of oil in Alaska's history and culminates with the national battle over plans to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The Senate's 2002 decision to protect "America's Serengeti" from oil development is a milestone on the road that may lead the world away from dependence on fossil fuels toward the use of energy-efficient, sustainable technologies.
