Mary
Chapin Carpenter in Cambodia for the Campaign for a Landmine
Free World
For
the "Campaign for the Landmine Free World" we traveled
with singer/songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter on a goodwill
mission to Cambodia. Cambodia has been ravaged by landmines
with millions of explosives still in the ground.
In
the remote village of Pre Vehar near the Thai border landmine
victims are learning to live productive lives as weavers of
traditional silk scarves called Kromah. Chapin toured the
village and strummed up a verse of "Old McDonald Had
a Farm".....and "Row, Row Your Boat" to school
children learning English.
